On the cusp of popular culture. ~~ 07/01/09 5:54AM

No more donations for sketches will be accepted. We've met and surpassed our goal. Big huge thanks to all who helped. I'll be sending another thank you e-mail as well as a timetable for when the sketches will get back to you.

This may not be the final cut of the comic. I've asked Hepting to ink and shade it later today. To us, it's more important that we get the comic up on time than if it's inked and shaded. But both are important, so he'll probably take a crack at it later.

Once again, Slackerz is on the very pulse of pop culture. The second a movie or a book comes out, a decade later WE ANNIHILATE WITHOUT RESERVE.

I know it's now a thousand years past the point where it's cool to mock Twilight, but that's how we roll, ladies and gentlemen.

Gotta give credit to a couple sources for this comic:

This was where I got the basic overall plot of the entire book series. I had been forced to watch the first Twilight movie at least five times but I figured I'll knock em all out at once. They're all in there.

This vampire has the power to sense RELATIONSHIPS. WATCH THE FUCK OUT.

Forum member Derek also inspired this comic with a stint a while ago as "Edwarderek Cullen" that was hilarious (with his sidekick, BellaDom). He directed me to this even more awesome review of Twilight:

Hey, thought I'd try the sketch-style again. People seemed to like it last time.

Not many sketches left. ~~ 06/29/09 10:47AM

Thanks to those who have already donated. We appreciate it and we're spending next week to work on those sketches. We'll have a super fine guest comic up that week.

15 out of the 20 set sketches have been spoken for. Only five left. Get your's before the big rush on update day this week.

It's Official. Going to Connecticon 2009. ~~ 06/27/09 10:21PM

About a couple hours ago, Hepting and I set our commitment to attending this year's Connecticon in stone by buying our plane tickets a couple hours ago. Scott Hepting and Scott Smith will be at Connecticon in one month.

Hepting and I will be there in full capacity at an artist's alley table that Saturday and Sunday, since Hepting's flight lands very late on Friday.

We need a little help coming up with hotel dough. It's a little too late to do a shirt run now, but Hepting says he can bust out some sketches. If you donate $10, Hepting will mail you a pencil sketch of your request --- nothing TOO extravagant and nothing gross. He will deny it and return your money if it's too out of line.

$20 will get you a mailed in pencil sketch AND an e-mailed digital photoshopped inked/shaded version of that sketch. After you donate, e-mail theslackerzATgmailDOTcom what you want Hepting to draw and the mailing address you want the sketch to be sent.

Limiting to 20 sketches. Our goal is $200. Get yours' in quick.

Thanks in advance for the support. Please DO NOT donate more than 20 dollars. We will feel incredibly undeserving and will have to refund back the money. We only need to able to get a roof over our heads during the event.

Hope to see you there!

Ch-ch-changes. ~~ 06/27/09 10:14AM

Fixed the link on "old slackerz" up at the top menu. Now when you click it, it'll take you to that stuff.

I've been playing the new Fallout 3 DLC Point Lookout. I don't think anything will ever top Broken Steel, but Point Lookout is definitely better than Operation Anchorage and The Pitt. It seems that, as they continue to make these DLC, they're getting more experienced with it and better at polishing it up. I'm not even halfway done with it, but I've done a lot. I imagine it's 8 hours of playback experience. So I recommend it. Hell, I recommend all of the Fallout 3 DLC. By the time Mothership Zeta is out, I will have spent 110 bucks all-together on Fallout 3 and DLC's.

Bethesda knows how to make a game LAST.
