It's one of those rare movies that long time fans can walk away from satisfied, but really get newcomers interested in the source material, and that's what I think makes for a great film adaptation.

It's what got me into the comics.

I always thought it was kinda cheesy when people in movie theaters applauded. When I saw the Avengers, there was this one guy who really, really wanted to applaud. Like, every time a new character walked onscreen, he would start clapping and then realize nobody else was doing it and stop.

It's kinda nice to see people actually get into a movie. I've been in a movie where everyone sang along with one song and several movies where people cheered and such. I can't say that I've heard much applause at the movies.

There was a lot of applause and "Oh fuck's" in Battleship when they drifted the U.S.S Missouri and killed an alien mothership.

The rest of the movie was absolute shit, but holy fuck that last fight.

People shouldn't make noise in a cinema. Some laughter is appropriate at unexpectedly funny moments, but anything else is just rude.

Why would anyone cheer at a movie? The movie can't hear your appreciation.

Why would you cry over a book? The book can't console you.

That too.

Was it as pretty to look at as the trailers made it out to be?

The rest of the movie was absolute shit, but holy fuck that last fight.

Yeah, the CGI was actually well done. Visually speaking, Battleship was great. The things that really bogged it down was a shitty romance plot between the main character and the admiral's daughter, and everyone's shitty acting except for Liam Neeson, that guy who plays Eric, and another guy who was playing a scientist.

All in all, it was like a Godzilla movie. Where you're thinking, "this would be a 7/10 film if they got rid of everything involving the people before and after the action."

But seriously, everything involving the U.S.S Missouri was fucking amazing. It started out with laughter, then went into one of the best "Humanity, Fuck Yeah," moments I've seen on the big screen.

Don't pay to go see Battleship in theaters, but at least rent it or pirate it. If you can get past the horrendous acting, it's a good watch.

Since when was cheering and applause an involuntary action?
