Yeah, the CGI was actually well done. Visually speaking, Battleship was great. The things that really bogged it down was a shitty romance plot between the main character and the admiral's daughter, and everyone's shitty acting except for Liam Neeson, that guy who plays Eric, and another guy who was playing a scientist.
All in all, it was like a Godzilla movie. Where you're thinking, "this would be a 7/10 film if they got rid of everything involving the people before and after the action."
But seriously, everything involving the U.S.S Missouri was fucking amazing. It started out with laughter, then went into one of the best "Humanity, Fuck Yeah," moments I've seen on the big screen.
Don't pay to go see Battleship in theaters, but at least rent it or pirate it. If you can get past the horrendous acting, it's a good watch.
