2 and a half hours of cold steel videos would have been better than the avengers

American Akira Chronicle was a pretty great movie.

The only real problem I had with Avengers is that I felt like it spent too much time in too few locations. It was like "Part 1: Aircraft Carrier that can fly for some reason, Part 2: New York City". There were a few other places in between, but they were pretty short.

Spoiler for Hiden:
And how did the Hulk know to go to New York City? I thought they figured out to go there sometime after he had already fallen off the ship.

It was quite good. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed that movie. Then again, I went in thinking it was going to be shit.

Spoiler for Hiden:
hulk made like no sense in that movie whatsoever. one minute he can't control any of his actions, and then the next he's totally aware of what's happening to him when he's hulking up with no real transition in between?

this is kind of a weak explanation, but i guess the first time he hulked out it was cause he was in a lot of pain/stress from being thrown around/falling all that ways so he didn't have any control at all. the second time he wanted to hulk out so he still had a modicum of control.  ~take that as you will~

Spoiler for Hiden:
My friend who is a big Hulk fan explained it to us; There's a point in the Hulk timeline where Bruce Banner is able to control the Hulk (that this film is finding it's inspiration in) as long as he's not surprise-attacked, knocked unconscious or hit by gamma radiation. This was why he was in India at the start; controlling the Hulk is a matter of anger management, so if Banner gets control of his anger, say, through meditation he can control the Hulk.

Second, maybe third best comic book movie ever, I think.

Despite my usual revulsion of popularism, probably The Dark Knight. As much as I hate Christian Bale's Batman voice, the Heath Ledger interpretation of the Joker is just so brilliantly iconic, and lets face it, a good Batman film is about the Villains rather than Batman himself.

Other high scorers would be Scott Pilgrim, the first X-Men film, Tim Burton's Batman, Flash Gordon, Sin City and Watchmen.

Kick-Ass is the best comic movie around. The casting and soundtrack was brilliant and the scenes they added for the movie wound up being some of the most memorable parts of the entire experience.

Respectable, but I think they Hollywoodised it too much with the happy ending to the romantic subplot and the jetpack.

I'll give you the romantic happy ending, but I thought the jetpack was pretty great and fit in decently well with tone Kick-ass has. I know the comic didn't have anything as crazy as that but it's still a pretty fucking silly book.

Edit: History of Violence was also based on a comic, though I never read the comic itself.
