The Avengers movie was great, go see it. The action was really well done except for the occasional monstrosity of CGI, the characters were all great, and the humor in it was fantastic.  Stick around after the credits.

it wasn't an amazing movie. a lot of the big chaotic fight scenes were inconsequential and didn't really have a reason to be there aside from FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. it wasn't consistent, a little confusing, and sometimes even silly how little sense it made. it had some funny dialog which is cool, but overall it was just a summer action comic book movie, no better or worse than any of the other ones that marvel has licensed recently.

You just described every superhero movie right there plus good humor and dialogue. I don't really know what you were expecting from it otherwise. It was a really entertaining superhero movie I put on the same tier as Iron Man and Captain America. I guess maybe the problem is you just don't like superhero movies that much or you just have shit taste.
