I sat there and thought "That's the worst name for a MacGuffin ever"

As for the possibility of the mountain falling due to mining, they have airships. Just collect your rocks, jump into an airship, and gtfo.
When a mountain is falling out of the sky I doubt it will do it in a very safe or slow way to let you just "jump into an airship." That sounds like a very difficult process to actually get done, god forbid the massive damage to the ground below that the government would flip the fuck out on for arrogant and massive destruction of the land for wealth's sake.

Mining is not an instantaneous process. If they slowly mined the mountains of unobtanium (if that IS what makes them float), then the mountains would be sinking gradually, not instantly falling out of the sky without the benefit of their floatyness, because the unobtanium would be mined gradually. So the process of jumping into an airship would be easily accomplishable.

And did you see the movie? I don't think the government would give a flying fuck about the land's damage. They were gassing and burning the natives and their homeland, not to mention the damage to the surrounding woodland.

That wasn't the government, right? And they admitted they couldn't do mass-damage shit until it became absolutely necessary.

I agree with the gradual thing but they'd have to mine the entire thing in a balanced distribution so it doesn't flip over or start to sink because they mined too much in one spot, which would be pretty impossible since their scanners and all everything won't work.

The Princess and the Frog was a good movie. It's nice to see a Disney movie with gunfire, dark magic, and shadow creatures that scared some of the kids in the theater. I'd like to see a movie where one/both of the parents aren't gone but overall I enjoyed the plot.

That does raise a good point, but I still think it would make more sense for them to at least check out the mountains, seeing as without working sensors, they couldn't be sure that there was no unobtainium in them. And even with their reluctance to perform mass environmental damage, I think they would choose a crashing mountain over the slaughter of natives.

Watched Toby Keith's Beer for My Horses with some Slackerz. There are three good scenes in that movie, the rest is (as expected) generic redneck bullshit. Still funny to riff on, but not Toby Keith's character listening to Toby Keith on the radio amazing.

Then I rewatched The Signal with some of 'em. Hearing their crys of shock and anger were delicious. Goddamn I love that movie.

Then Letters from Iwo Jima. 8888888)

I had no clue that a Toby Keith movie existed. I've disappointed my redneck roots.
