Dr. Spiral Knights, Or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned To Love Energy

YO. Our guild is Addy's old guild, Team Rocket, but we're basically the only ones who ever play on it anymore. Zev and I have officer status. If any of you aren't in it let us know.
THIS IS YOUR BIBLE. Whenever you're not sure what you want to do, look up the armor and different weapons lists and see what stuff can get up to 5 stars, and if any of it interests you. In PvE for the final boss area, Vog Cub is the armor you usually want to go for, along with a Grey Owlite Shield and a Divine Avenger. Otherwise go nuts on gear, because the coolest part about this game is the sheer amount of different types of equipment you wanna make.
I'm built for gun slinging with an armor set I'm hoping to bring into Firestorm Citadel:

and if the perfect mask's status weaknesses are too much for it, then i can always swap it out for this:

i've also got a pulsar i SHOULD be working on but. i'm just. so lazy. i'd rather make my shitty sentenza before the polaris.

I built a searing edge and am now working on getting stuff together to upgrade my brandish into something. Maybe shadow damage and later on get more brandishes to upgrade into things.

you should only get one of the elemental brandishes, you don't need more than one. the shadow one is different, so if you wanted to get a shadow one and then an elemental one, that would be pretty rad.
Ungodly:
Yeah. That's what I was thinking. I'm assuming there's no "best" element to upgrade into, so I'll probably just do fire.
Super High-School Level Forum Poster:
there aren't really elements, per se. there's status elements like fire and ice which affect what ailment you get, but those typically are aligned with elemental. it's an interesting system, it's like a rock paper scissors where piercing beats elemental and elemental beats shadow and so forth, but not quite. instead it's some enemies deal a type of damage and are weak to a type of damage, so you have to know what you're up against and prepare accordingly. when it comes to status elements, any one you want to use is fine, but it won't be effective if you're facing off with enemies of that element. like say you're facing an ice zombie and you have an ice bomb. he'll take extra elemental damage from the original attack, but he'll resist the ice status.
