Shocked and disgusted by the view Amadeus holds his breath for a few seconds. Then he calms himself and takes a look at the corpses. "You should think we're used to these kind of things by now..."

You paw through the corpses, hoping to find a clue as to what happened and who did this. Unfortunately, none of the corpses are above the rank of Sergeant, and don't seem to be carrying any sort of orders. They all carry standard issue lasguns and general military gear. You also manage to find approximately 100 thrones. However, examining a peculiar wound on one of the corpses, you find what looks like a bite mark with several fangs left embedded in it...

(I have no idea what you're rolling for. I guess search? Gonna pretend you rolled a knowledge check though.)

You're pretty sure the wounds on the Guardsmen were not caused by any natural beast you know of. When Balthier spies the teeth though, it confirms that whatever did this was really something else. You examine the teeth, and it reminds you of a LEGEND you once heard in your scholarly pursuits. Whole ships wiped out and left drifting in space, the crew's corpses gone but blood everywhere. Usually, whatever did it was long gone. But in some cases, the creature or creatures still lurked aboard the ship, much to the dismay of any inquisitive boarders. That doesn't explain why the corpses are still there though. The general theory was that the creatures would haul the bodies off to be eaten, not leave them where they fell. However, in some rare cases, when the creatures were still on board and had established a "nest", and you use the term loosely as you're not even sure what a "nest" of the bastards even looks like, they would leave the bodies where they fell to be collected and eaten later.... You further remember that in the legends, the creatures needed no air to breathe, and could become dormant for centuries with no food or water. The names of the beasts were never agreed upon, and the legends were eventually subscribed to Tyranid attacks.... you wonder though.

"Oh feth Hive Worms!" Calm clutches his rifle a little tighter "do we really have to go down this passage?" Not waiting for a reply he clenches his jaw and moves back into the lead moving past the bodies and further down the passage. "Cover me ok" Calm looks at the expectant faces of his crew ,turns and with his back against the wall he quickly checks around the corner at the end of the passage before ducking back.
