Yeah the faeries are very morbid and they feels kinda off when they talk about death in a very off-hand sort of way.

I loved that. I'm only one episode in but she came off as much, much more educated than most of the other characters. Most of the villagers came off as well...normal derpy villagers, and the assistant was only taught to respond to things in a positive manner etc while she's thinking things through and trying to engineer situations to her advantage. Though I don't she actually had any more education than anybody else in Derpsville.

I guess that's why they put her in charge of things.

Finished Panty and Stocking today, that was really goddamn good. Will probably re-watch it with the English track eventually.

Watching Samurai Champloo for the first time and about half way through, it is also really good.
