Just like Bayonetta.

Bayonetta didn't leave me underwhelmed after my first playthrough only lasted 5 hours with only one extra difficulty level to play through.

Don't get me wrong, the series is visualy and technically stunning, its story is pretty decent, and it has has great cinematic moments. It is just hard to really get into the gameplay and feel as badass as its main character when it feels like the game is playing itself half the time.

Yeah, Tasku has a point there. I love God of War and when Kratos was sitting on Gaias back, climbing up the olymp to kick Zeus' ass I literally screamed "I'M GONNA KILL YOU ZEUS!!!" at the TV. Then it suddenly stopped and since then i'm waiting for this moment. So my expectations are pretty high. But after all it is just hacking and whacking some bad guys, hitting the same buttons over and over again. Even BioShock could be played with that system.

Thats a pretty good summary and dismissal of Devil May Cry.

How so? DMC doesn't have a quicktime event everytime your character so much as sneezes which is what I was reffering to when I said it was so easy and less immersive than other games in the genre like DMC and Ninja Gaiden, at least for me anyway. I was dissapointed that Bayonetta ended up using them during boss fights although it didn't end being the majority of the duration of the fight.

When I first played GoW 1 I ended up enjoying the story more than the gameplay, something I wasn't expecting go into it. I only watched my friend play through 2 and ended up enjoying it just as much that way.
